Grand Prix of the Jury for "Romeo Eleven" in Annonay!
Romeo Eleven, the first film of Ivan Grbovic produced by Paul Barbeau, won the Grand Prix of the Jury at the Festival du premier film d'Annonay, in France. Ali Ammar, who plays in the film with Joseph Bou Nassar, was there to receive the prize on behalf of the team.

Romeo Eleven, directed by Ivan Grbovic, will be screened at the Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA) during Canadian Front, a canadian event in New York! Produced by Paul Barbeau and starring Ali Ammar and Joseph Bou Nassar, the film has been screened in more than fifteen international festivals including TIFF, Karlovy Vary (Ecumenical Jury Commendation), Dubai and Santa Barbara.

Paul Barbeau in Berlin for Producers without borders
Paul Barbeau, from Reprise Films, has been selected to participate to the Téléfilm project Producteurs sans frontières, during the Berlinale 2012 (Berlin Festival 2012). He will present his last productions, Romeo Eleven by Ivan Grbovic, Winter Passed by Paul Barbeau, and Avant que mon coeur bascule by Sébastien Rose, starring Clémence Dufresne-Deslières, Sophie Lorain, Alexis Martin and Sébastien Ricard. It will be the opportunity to present his projects in developpment: The Long Fault by Maxime Giroux, and Knowlton by Yves-Christian Fournier.

Romeo Eleven (Roméo Onze) on a roll!!
After having won the prize for Best Canadian Feature film at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema (F.N.C.), being selected in the top ten films of Quebec by Nightlife magazine, and having been shown in Karlovy Vary, Toronto (TIFF), Thessonaliki, Paris, Amiens, Kerala (India) and Dubai. The film, directed by Ivan Grbovic and starring Ali Ammar and Joseph Bou Nassar will now be shown in Annonay France and in Official Competition at The Santa Barbara International Film Festival, which is a major stop on the circuit before the Golden Globe and Oscar nominations of 2012. This feature, produced by Paul Barbeau will also be presented at Cine-Québec, even hosted by Métropole Films.

Reprise Films will present two films at Ciné-Québec 2012, which takes place from January, 24th-27th 2012 at Manoir Saint-Sauveur (Laurentides): Romeo Eleven, directed by Ivan Grbovic and starring Ali Ammar, Joseph Bou Nassar and Sanda Bourenane; and Avant que mon coeur bascule, directed by Sébastien Rose and starring Clémence Dufresne-Deslières, Sophie Lorain, Sébastien Ricard and Alexis Martin. Romeo Eleven was screened on November 19th at the Forum des Images in Paris during the Cinéma du Québec in Paris, with an introduction by the director Ivan Grbovic. The film was screend in Nîmes and Cannes too, in the same festival organized by the Sodec.
"Avant que mon coeur bascule" now in postproduction
The new feature of Sébastien Rose, Avant que mon coeur bascule, is now in post-production. Produced by Paul Barbeau and Reprise Films, the film is interpreted by three renowned québécois actors, Sophie Lorain, Alexis Martin et Sébastien Ricard, and introduces a young promising actress, Clémence Dufresne-Deslières.
"Winter Passed" ("Après la neige), a film by Paul Barbeau
Winter Passed, first film written and directed by Paul Barbeau, is now just completed. It is a semi-autobiographical film on his work as a producer and owner of NuFilms which produced more than 700 music videos for international artists such as Arcade Fire, Tragically Hip, Corneille, Celine Dion, Martha Wainwright, Beast and Wyclef Jean to name a few. Romeo Eleven in Dubai!
Romeo Eleven will be screend at the Dubai International Film Festival, which takes place from December 7th to 14th. The first feature of Ivan Grbovic, featuring Ali Ammar and Joseph Bou Nassar, has already received four awards and has been screened in about ten festivals worldwide.

Jo for Jonathan (directed by Maxime Giroux) won two awards at the Gotham Screen International Film Festival in New York, Best Feature and Best Actor for Raphaël Lacaille. The jury was composed of Richard Baum, Agnes Crane, Ben Garchar, Christopher Jarvis and Bill Woods.

After being rewarded at Namur and the FNC, Romeo Eleven goes to the 52d edition of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. It will be competing in the Open Horizons category, which is supervised by Dimitri Eipides, also programming the TIFF.

Romeo Eleven has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival and director Ivan Grobvic will compete with it for the Canada First! award for best first Canadian feature. Romeo Eleven introduces young Ali Ammar in the lead role and is supported by renowned Lebanese actor Joseph Bou Nassar. The film recently won the Ecumenical Jury Commendation at Karlovy Vary. It was produced by Paul Barbeau and is distributed in Canada by Métropole Films. TIFF 2011 runs from Sept 8th to 18th in downtown Toronto.

Téléfilm Canada confirms his financial contribution to the new feature film of Sébastien Rose, Avant que mon cœur bascule, produced by Paul Barbeau. The staff enters in production for a shooting in fall, and starts the casting of the young actress who will play Sarah, the main character... The film will star Sophie Lorain, from a screenplay by Sébastien Rose and Stéfanie Lasnier. The film will be distributed in Québec by Métropole Films.
